Studio Vino has been asked to write a monthly column on wine-related topics. Below are links to frequently asked questions relating to wine and wine tasting.
Q: Is Studio Vino available for private events?
A: Absolutely! We have hosted client-appreciation events, team-building activities, birthday parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, anniversaries and graduation celebrations. Click here to read testimonials. Call Studio Vino to learn more about hosting your special event.
Q: Do you require reservations?
A: Yes, reservations are required if you would like to bring a group for an initial wine tasting and making event. Reservations are also required for your bottling party. Alternatively, if you would like to visit Studio Vino without a reservation and sample wines made on site, you are more than welcome to do so! In fact, we've recently expanded our seating area to accommodate wine tasting.
Q: Is Studio Vino a wine bar?
A: Yes ... Studio Vino has a tasting bar and lounge area for you to visit in order to enjoy Studio Vino wines by the flight, glass or bottle. We also have a small menu of food items such as cheese boards and snack plates. Additionally, we are happy to order menu items from Miele's Italian Bistro and have them delivered so you can enjoy in our tasting room. We are thrilled to host you for wine tasting - however, all of the wines served at Studio Vino have been made on-site at our winery.
Q: How many wines do you make at the winery?
A: At this point, we make 6 whites: Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Viognier and Chardonnay and 9 reds: Barbera, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Malbec, Zinfandel and Shiraz. We are also thrilled to introduce our new line of interesting and unique fruit-infused wines: Green Apple Riesling, Peach Chardonnay, Pink Grapefruit Blush, Blackberry Merlot, Pomegranate Zinfandel and Cranberry Shiraz.
Q: How long does the wine take to make?
A: The wine typically takes about 90 days to complete – including primary fermentation, secondary fermentation and filtering.
Q: Can I taste the wine before I make my own batch?
A: Absolutely! If you have reservations for a tasting, you will have a chance to sample 8-11 of our wines along with hand-selected cheeses and chocolates.
Q: When will my wine be ready to drink and how long can I keep it?
A: Your wine will be drinkable when you come back to bottle. Both whites and reds will be quite palatable, however, you'll notice that the reds in particular will be better with a bit of aging. 3 to 6 months after bottling, you'll notice a difference in overall taste and finish. Our wines do contain sulfites for preserving, however we recommend drinking no later than 2-3 years to enjoy best taste.
Q. Are there discounts for multiple batches?
A: Yes, there is a discount. In fact, you may decide that you want more than one type of wine (especially if you are a group making wine together). Therefore, you can take advantage of discount pricing and share different types of wine among the group.
Q. I am a restaurant owner and would love to have my own 'house wine'. Do you have wholesale pricing with custom labels so I can have my own brand?
A:
Absolutely! Please call Studio Vino to inquire about wholesale pricing by the case. We are delighted to work with you to create your own house wine that you can pour or sell by the bottle.
Q: Can I blend?
A: Of course! Studio Vino's goal is to allow you to create a wine that suits your taste. If you would like to blend, that's certainly an option. Talk to Studio Vino representatives for more information on blending.
Q: Can I ship my wine?
A: Depending upon the state to which you are shipping, Studio Vino is happy to work with you to ship your wine. We are able to ship to most states.
Q: Where do the grapes come from?
A: At this time, all wine produced at Studio Vino begins with grapes from California - mainly the Lodi District.
Q: Is there any experience required? What exactly will I need to know? A: The good news is that there is no prior experience necessary in order to make your own batch of wine. Studio Vino provides instructions as to how to blend, bottle, cork and label. You will have fun learning along the way while we manage the fermentation, racking and filtering for you.
Q: Is there grape stomping involved? Will I get my feet dirty?
A: No, no need to dirty your feet. We use start with grapes that have already been crushed so you won't be standing in a barrel like Lucille Ball! |
